Don’t try to scare me, I know how to give a befitting reply by roaring.
Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee has given a befitting reply to the arrest of Vinesh Chandaul, director of IPAC, the election strategy organization of Trinamool Congress, by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the national capital Delhi on Monday night. Speaking at an election rally in Jagatballavpur, Howrah on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee strongly criticized both the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Election Commission. She stressed that Trinamool Congress cannot be cowed down by intimidation. As part of her campaign for the assembly elections, the Trinamool chief is holding several public meetings every day. On Tuesday, one such rally was held in Jagatballavpur, Howrah, where she directly challenged both the BJP and the Election Commission.
Mamata Banerjee claims, those who try to scare me run away at my roar.
Addressing the gathering, Mamata Banerjee said that no matter how many tactics you adopt to win the elections, no matter how many tricks you try, Trinamool will once again capture Bengal. Only candidates with the pair of flowers symbol will win in every assembly seat in Bengal. Also, expressing her anger towards the Election Commission, she said, if you try to intimidate me, I will roar back. Those who try to intimidate me run away in fear of my roar. Mamata further said, if you try to intimidate me, I will surprise you, and if you try to surprise me, I will threaten you.
Mamata alleges that the Election Commission has brought the police officers who caused power outages to this state.
Political analysts say that Mamata Banerjee is the Chief Minister of the state. She also holds the charge of the State Police Minister. However, upon the announcement of the Assembly elections, the state’s police and administrative machinery came under the jurisdiction of the Election Commission. Mamata raised this very issue during her speech on Tuesday. She also strongly criticized the functioning of the police force. Addressing her party workers and supporters from the stage, Mamata urged them to file a formal complaint if they are harassed by the police. If you cannot file a written complaint, send it online instead. The police no longer obey my orders. They are now acting at the behest of the BJP. Furthermore, a select few have been brought in from outside, especially those who specialize in power outages.
Mamata urges people to complain online if the police harass them, saying the police department is not in my control.
It is noteworthy that on March 15, the Election Commission announced the assembly elections in West Bengal. Following this, the Model Code of Conduct came into effect across the state. Since then, Mamata Banerjee has repeatedly leveled various allegations against the Election Commission. She has also claimed on several occasions that the Commission is acting at the behest of the BJP.
Repeating this same point on Tuesday, Mamata Banerjee once again criticized both the BJP and the Commission.
Additionally, she raised her voice on the issue of Special Intensive Revision (SIS) of voter lists. She assured that those whose names had been removed from the list would be reinstated. She also alleged collusion between the CPI(M) and the BJP, asserting that CPI(M) members were now working on behalf of the BJP. Mamata urged people to vote enthusiastically for Trinamool candidates and ensure their victory.
