Ahmedabad: The 19th Ganpati Mahotsav organized by Shri Baliyadev Yuvak Mitra Mandal was celebrated with immense devotion and enthusiasm at Maniyas Society, near Shri Baliyadev Temple in Maninagar, Ahmedabad. The 12-day religious celebration concluded with an emotional immersion ceremony, as devotees and members of the youth group bid farewell to Lord Ganesha with tearful eyes.
The festival was organized under the guidance of Mandal President Pavan Makan, with active participation from local youths and residents. Continuing its tradition for the past 19 years, the Mandal once again organized various religious activities, including daily prayers, aarti and devotional programmes.
Ganesha Idol Named ‘Sarkar’
One of the special attractions of this year’s celebration was the grand idol of Lord Ganesha, lovingly named ‘Sarkar’ by the organizers and devotees. For 12 days, devotees gathered in large numbers to seek the blessings of Bappa and participate in the various religious programmes.
Grand Decoration and Mahaprasad
On the final day, Lord Ganesha was adorned in an elaborate and beautiful decoration that attracted devotees throughout the area. The Mandal also organized a grand Mahaprasad, which was attended by a large number of devotees and local residents.
Emotional Farewell After 12 Days of Devotion
After 12 days of worship and dedicated service, the atmosphere turned emotional during the immersion procession. President Pavan Makan and members of the Mandal, along with local youths and devotees, became emotional while bidding farewell to Bappa.
The sentiment among devotees was summed up in the words, “We wait for Bappa throughout the year, and now that he is leaving, we will miss him dearly.
Devotees Dance to Devotional Beats
The immersion procession witnessed a vibrant gathering of devotees and youngsters dancing to devotional songs played on DJ music. The chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya, Agle Baras Tu Jaldi Aa” echoed across Maninagar, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and celebration.
Before the immersion, devotees performed the prescribed rituals and offered prayers to Lord Ganesha with complete devotion. Finally, amid emotional chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya,” the idol was immersed.
The 19th Ganpati Mahotsav organized by Shri Baliyadev Yuvak Mitra Mandal once again showcased the spirit of faith, community participation and social unity in the Maninagar area.
The organizers thanked all devotees and local residents for their cooperation and support in making the celebration a grand success. Local residents also expressed their appreciation for President Pavan Makan and all the youth members who worked tirelessly for the successful organization of the festival.
